Petrified Forest Park (Bali-Alonia)
You can access the Petrified Forest Park (Bali Alonia) by all the usual means of transport (car, bus, motorcycle, bicycle).
A 5 km long asphalt road leads to the Park, starting from the 83rd km of the provincial road Mytilene-Sigri. The Park has a parking space. Carrying water with you, as well as wearing athletic shoes and a hat is highly recommended during a visit to the Park.
Sigri Park
The Petrified Forest Park of Sigri is located on the premises of the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest. The walking trail is easy and suitable for children and the elderly. You can access the park through the Museum. Wearing athletic shoes and a hat is highly recommended during a visit to the Park.
Plaka Park
You can access the Plaka Park by all the usual means of transport (car, bus, motorcycle, bicycle), through the provincial road Sigri-Eressos. The Park has a parking space. It is also accessible by foot from Sigri (around 500m). Carrying water with you, as well as wearing athletic shoes and a hat is highly recommended during a visit to the Park.
Visit at the Nissiopi Marine Park
The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest implements daily organized visits at the Nissiopi Marine Park. Booking is required.
Before the visit at the Nissiopi Marine Park, visitors are informed about the Park and the Petrified Forest and have the chance to watch an audiovisual presentation at the Museum facilities.
Afterwards, visitors walk to the port of Sigri, where the special glass-bottom boat “Nissiopi” awaits them for a tour of the marine part of the Park. Then they disembark at the port of the islet of Nissiopi, where the walking tour at the land part of the Park begins. The Museum implements the organized visit to the Nissiopi Marine Park only when the weather conditions allow it.
