The collection includes parts of fossilized palm tree trunks (Palmoxylon), parts of root nodes and root systems (Rhizopalmoxylon) that perfectly preserve the morphological features and structure of the original roots, as well as imprints of palm leaves (Phoenix) on pyroclastic materials.

Observing the fossilized trunks of the collection, one can detect the characteristic vertical capillary tubes that transported nutrients to the upper parts of the trees.
