What actions can we take in our daily lives to tackle climate change? How can we learn through the example of the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest?

The program provides knowledge, skills and values required for the management of energy issues through the acquaintance with the energy upgrade actions of the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest. The Museum reviews its use in energy and implements energy saving actions, through proper management and application of appropriate technologies. Students research all of these actions and are encouraged to take action to reduce their own ecological footprint.

 

The program includes:

  • Presentation with video about climate change today.
  • Discussion on basic concepts such as climate, weather, plant evolution on earth, climate change, energy, recycling, ecological footprint, etc.
  • Research in the energetically efficient Natural History Museum of  the Lesvos Petrified Forest and gatehring of information.
  • Recording the findings in the special educational cards.
  • Compilation of observations and drawing conclusions, recording of proposals and commitment to take action.
  • Educational activities with educational cards and games.
