Lesvos island Unesco Global Geopark - Λέσβος Παγκόσμιο Γεωπάρκο Unesco welcomed three volunteers from Germany as part of a new collaboration between the Greek and German National Commissions for UNESCO, which enables Greek UNESCO Global Geoparks to host young people from Germany for a 6-month internship.

The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest welcomed the three volunteers, who started their internship at Lesvos-UNESCO World Geopark. After attending introductory seminars, they started with great enthusiasm working on fossil cleaning under the supervision of the Museum's conservators, while also offering valuable assistance in translating into German texts and communication material. At the same time, they have already begun exploring important points of geological interest - geosites, museums, monuments and in general areas of natural and cultural heritage of the Geopark.
