Petrified Forest MTB Adventure 2020

On Sunday 11th October at 11.30 a.m. the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest will host the final of “LESVOS RIDE GRAND PRIX MTB series 2020” in Sigri. The race will offer the participants the one of a kind experience to compete on the trails of the Lesvos Petrified Forest, a truly unique natural monument. The athletes will cross the Petrified Forest cycling next to million-year-old petrified tree trunks. The route is short and follows low altitude trails, but it is also demanding and has many technical difficulties. The starting point of the race will be at the premises of the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest. All the health protocols for the Covid-19 pandemic will be strictly followed.

The race is supported by the «Rural regeneration through systemic heritage-led strategies — RURITAGE» HORIZON 2020 Programme. Valuable is also the contribution of local organizations such as Lesvos Cycling Club, the Greek Rescue Team and many volunteers, while the technical support is provided by Lesvos Ride.
