For the next tasting event of the “Lesvos Gastronomy” series, which will take place on Thursday August 3rd, 2023 at 11:00 am – 1pm, the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest is collaborating with the Skalochori Women Agritourism Cooperative!
Part of the Agritourism Festival’s celebrations, the tasting event is organized by the Museum with hopes of drawing attention to the gastronomy of Lesvos as a Global Geopark of UNESCO. It desires to highlight the intimate ways with which the area, fossils, land, and biodiversity communicate with local products of Lesbian soil.
Members of the Skalochori Women Agritourism Cooperative will be offering visitors samples of their various creations, handing out quality and unique flavors, mini delicious adventures into the heart of the island.
People who join us will have the chance to taste local specialties such as baclavas with traditional phyllo dough and walnut and syrup filling, with a beautiful scent of cinnamon and a swirl of local spices! Participants will also encounter the Greek almond treats “amigdalota,” in beautiful flower forms, shaped with love. The Skalochori Women Agritourism Cooperative will also be offering excellent traditional products such as spoon sweets, delicious marmalades, and handmade pasta.
