05 Nov 2020
Παγκόσμια Ημέρα Ευαισθητοποίησης για το Τσουνάμι

The 5th November has been designated by the UN General Assembly as World Tsunami Awareness Day since 2015. Its aim is to inform and raise awareness among the global community about the danger of tsunami and call all countries to establish measures and strategies for tsunami risk reduction.

The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest is trying to inform and prepare the public regarding the danger of earthquakes and tsunamis through educational programs for schools, seminars for teachers and various awareness activities for all its visitors. An educational construction-simulator of tsunami was also recently installed in its premises for the better understanding of this natural phenomenon.
