The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest continues promoting the natural wealth of Lesvos Island Unesco Global Geopark!
After successfully participating in the Greek Alternative Tourism & Gastronomy Workshop along with many tour operators and tourism associations from Belgium and Poland and Germany, the Museum continues its efforts to promote Lesvos as an alternative tourism destination in the touristic market of France
Spring bird migration has begun: many different species cross the Mediterranean, after having spent all winter in Africa, in order to reach Europe and nest there. To date, 23 different species have been recorded by the Kalloni Enviromantal Information Center on our island. Among them all the species of swallows that we encounter in Greece!

After its fruitful participation at the WEB Greek Alternative Tourism & Gastronomy Workshop held in Germany from 17 to 19 March 2021 in which it made contact with many travel agencies and tourism organizations, the Museum continues its efforts to promote Lesvos as an alternative travel destination at the touristic market of the UK during the workshop that will take place from 22 to 24 March 2021.

March 22 has been designated as World Water Day with the aim of raising awareness and taking action on water-related issues. Water is the most important resource of our planet, the most valuable asset of nature. World Water Day was established at a UN conference for the environment and sustainable development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. This year's theme is “Valuing water”, focusing on the multidimensional value of water for humans and the environment.
Lesvos Island Unesco Global Geopark participates in the ITB International Tourism Fair in Berlin, the most important tourism fair in the world, where the international tourism industry meets every year and which this year will be held exclusively digitally from March 9 to 12, 2021.
