Tomorrow, Wednesday 2th June, at 9.00 am., begins the Scientific Conference of the Department of Geography of the University of the Aegean on the topic: "Geography in a Changing World", that will be held online on 2-4 June 2021, with the participation of many distinguished speakers form Greece and abroad.

At the conference about 200 scientific papers will be presented online, which cover the five main thematic areas around which the Conference revolves: 1. Anthropogeography, 2. Physical Geography, 3. Spatial Planning and Development, 4. Geoinformatics, 5. Geographical Education

The International Summer School on Geoparks, the main training course of the UNESCO Global Geoparks Program for Geoparks professionals, that takes place every year In Lesvos, will be held online due to the Covid-19 restrictions, from 7 to 20 June, with the theme :UNESCO Global Geoparks and Sustainability”.

European Geoparks Week, the big celebration of the European Geoparks, is organized again this year by Geoparks from all over Europe, for the nineteenth consecutive year. Lesvos-UNESCO Global Geopark participates in the European Geoparks Week 2021 with a variety of activities for young and older ones that will take place between May 22 and June 6 2021.

On Saturday 22 May 2021, the Petrified Forest Park reopens and the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest-Kalloni Enviromental Information Center invite you to an excursion at the Petrified Forest including a guided tour, nature observation and birdwatching.

With great success and high attendance took place yesterday the online event “Natural History Museums and Society”, co-organised by the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Museum, the Natural History Museum of Crete - Official Page and the
