Professor N. Zouros, President of the Global Geoparks Network, at the opening ceremony of the 6th International Training Course on UNESCO Global Geoparks: Management and Development, organized by the China University of Geosciences (Beijing), the Yimengshan UNESCO Global Geopark, the Office of Chinese Geoparks Network-Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, with the contribution of the University of the Aegean.

After its fruitful participation at the WEB Greek Alternative Tourism & Gastronomy Workshop held in Belgium from 25 to 27 November 2020, in which it made contact with many travel agencies and tourism organizations, the Museum continues its efforts to promote Lesvos as an alternative travel destination at the touristic market of Poland during the workshop that will take place from 8 to 10 December 2020.

With great success and more than 200 participants from all over Greece the Webinar UNESCO GLOBAL GEOPARKS took place on Friday 27th November.

The main goal was to connect all teachers and educators of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network in Greece with the Greek Unesco Global Geoparks.

Opening remarks were addressed by Ms S. Zacharaki, Deputy Minister of Education and Ms E. Tzitzikosta, President of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO.

The international online Colloquium entitled “Preserving the Future: New approaches to Heritage Management and Environmental Protection” was conducted with great success and high attendance. The Colloquium organized by the Greek Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO, was attended by almost 500 participants from all over the world.
