On Sunday 11th October at 11.30 a.m. the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest will host the final of “LESVOS RIDE GRAND PRIX MTB series 2020” in Sigri. The race will offer the participants the one of a kind experience to compete on the trails of the Lesvos Petrified Forest, a truly unique natural monument. The athletes will cross the Petrified Forest cycling next to million-year-old petrified tree trunks. The route is short and follows low altitude trails, but it is also demanding and has many technical difficulties.

The Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest will participate in the European Heritage Days 2020, among many other cultural institutions all over Greece. The theme for this year’s European Heritage Days celebration is "Heritage and Education: Learning for Life”.

Events

Every summer the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest co-organizes with the local authorities and local cultural organizations a variety of cultural events from sculpture, art, pottery and craft exhibitions to book presentations, theatrical and musical performances and film screenings. This year the museum took part in the festival “Cultural Summer 2020” of the Association of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Island of Lesvos by hosting at its outdoor amphitheater two theatrical plays.
